A chemical formulation of QuantiShield (Surtreat TPS II) is applied to the surface of concrete and migrates to the rebar surface and inhibited rebar corrosion by stabilizing rebar corrosion resistant surface, reducing cement porosity and the water soluble chloride content. The powerful anodic site functioning corrosion inhibitor has reduced the corrosion hot spots by a greater degree than the average rate.
Rebar corrosion rates measured using the GalvaPlus Instrument which measures corrosion current via polarization resistance in micro-amps per cm2 (uA/cm2)
which is converted into micrometer of steel lost per year. Measurements are made at 30 points on surface.

DESCRIPTION
QuantiSHIELD SURTREAT TPS II is a multi phase, inorganic, surface applied corrosion inhibitor for use on typical (3000-5000 psi), hardened concrete. It will protect reinforcing steel in concrete from corrosion on multiple fronts by penetrating the concrete surface and migrating to the steel. TPS II forms a passivating film on the steel surface which provides protection from the corrosion process, thereby extending the service life of the structure.
